Our Pastor: Elizabeth Ingram Schindler
Elizabeth Ingram Schindler grew up in the southeast United States and relocated to the Pacific Northwest with her husband, Steven, who is an attorney in downtown Seattle. She is a 2006 graduate of the Divinity School at Duke University and she is an enthusiastic Duke basketball fan. Elizabeth and Steven have an 13-month old daughter named Caroline and a 9-year-old stubborn Cockapoo named Benji. Elizabeth comes to us from serving as the associate pastor and director of spiritual formation at Seattle First United Methodist Church. Elizabeth wishes to convey to our congregation that her whole family is excited to be a part of the Browns Point community and they look forward to meeting all of us.
Learn more about the Schindler family on their blog, which Elizabeth promises to update when things settle down a bit:

Our Accompanist: Andrew Larsen
Andrew Larsen is a University of Washington graduate, where he studied classical music and composition. Andrew shares his talents at our church while maintaining demanding performances and teaching schedules. Andrew brings his unique boogie-woogie and blues style to many of his performances at church. And many Sundays Andrew will step away from the piano and play guitar or mandolin while he sings.
A talented vocalist as well as an outstanding instrumentalist, Larsen has been sought-after in the Puget Sound’s rhythm and blues community for several years and has been featured on recordings by Henry Cooper, Mark DuFresne, Mike Lynch, Jack Cook and The Doug Lynn Band.
Lin Cashman: Our Office Manager
Lin is a Washington native, born and raised in Kent. She was Housing Human Services Manager for the City of Kent before coming to work for Browns Point UMC. Lin and her husband, Tom, are active members at St. Columba Episcopal Church in Kent.
Lin says: “The work I do in the church office is much more than a job for me – it is truly a part of carrying out my own covenant with God to use my gifts and talents in the world. I come not only to work, but also to serve, and to use my spiritual gifts, my skills and talents, to ensure that the office not only runs efficiently but is also a place of welcoming, comfort and joy.”
In addition to her ministry here at BPUMC, Lin is a certificated Spiritual Director and an energy healing practitioner. One of her greatest joys is her 4 year old granddaughter who she takes care of every Tuesday.
Lin works in the church office Wednesday, Thursday and Friday from 9:00 AM—3:00 PM.
